Volunteer opportunities

Assumptions Institute is growing! Here is your opportunity to use your talents and skills to help us. There are many possibilities, and the best are near the end of the list.

Read the descriptions and contact us using the form below.

If you have a skill we haven’t mentioned, and you would like to help us, fill out the form anyway, and we’ll talk. We love creative, out-of-the box people!

Prayer Coordinator – The Kingdom of God advances on its knees. This person would help Assumptions Institute by assembling a team of people to pray regularly for Assumptions Institute.  The team can be local or widely dispersed.  The coordinator would check in often for updated prayer needs.  This person can work locally or remotely.

Website Developer - Like every organization, we have websites that need updating and maintenance. We also have new websites that we would like to build that would expand the influence and reach of Assumptions Institute. This person would need both creative ability to make our sites look great, and technical experience with website design and hosting.

Script Writer - This person with creative writing skills would help us with an exciting new initiative. We want to build a whole library of short educational videos featuring our unique assumptions technique. The videos would be used on social media and in future educational resources that we will be developing. This person would need to be familiar with our core messages, so will need to learn from me about assumptions, the Critical Assumptions Test, and our unique “takes” on various subjects and issues.  These learning sessions can be done in person, over the phone, or by video conferencing.  This person can work locally or remotely.

Administrative Assistant – This person would need to be reliable and have attention to detail.  We need help with donation processing, donation reports, appointment scheduling, and other occasional administrative needs.  This person will need to be local to Peachtree City, GA, as that is where our post office box is located.

Social Media – This person would help us use and grow our presence on social media.  Our presence is minimal at the moment and needs much improvement and growth.  This person needs to be not just familiar with social media, but knows how to use it to increase awareness of Assumptions Institute and engagement with our various resources and events.  This person would need to be familiar with our core messages, so will need to learn from me about assumptions, the Critical Assumptions Test, and our unique “takes” on various subjects and issues.  These learning sessions can be done in person, over the phone, or by video conferencing.  This person can work locally or remotely.

Communication – This person would help us communicate with donors, respond to inquiries, and write regular newsletters and social media posts.  Communication is important to keep people engaged with Assumptions Institute as well as grow our reach.  This person would need to be familiar with our core messages, so he or she will need to learn from our President about assumptions, the Critical Assumptions Test, and our unique “takes” on various subjects and issues.  These learning sessions can be done in person or over the phone or by video conferencing.  This person can work locally or remotely.

Scheduling – It is important for us to schedule live events for teaching and training with our assumptions-based discernment skill.  This person would call and/or email various churches and Christian groups to schedule talks and seminars for me.  Ability with sales and/or promotion, including cold calls and getting referrals, would be helpful.  This person can work locally or remotely.

Partner Development and Fundraising – This person would help me with cultivating current ministry partners and future ministry partners.  For Assumptions Institute to grow, we need to increase our funding.  Some experience with fund development would be helpful.  We need a “people person” with an attitude to serve and involve our ministry partners in our events and projects.  This person can work locally or remotely, though many of our current donors are in Georgia.  We also have a concentration of our partners on the West Coast and the Pacific Northwest, in addition to others throughout the US.

Marketing – As we finish our new resources, we need help to make people aware of the powerful, innovative discernment resources that Assumptions Institute has available.  We will need to promote our new Learn to Discern video courses for individuals and small groups.  We will need to promote our semester courses to Christian schools and home schools.  We also have the “Transparent” book and the “Transparent” app that can be promoted much more than they already have.  Additionally, this person should have the ability to think creatively and “out-of-the-box” to help us develop innovative ways to adapt and promote our existing resources as well as create new ones.  This person would work with both our President and our marketing VP.  This person can work locally or remotely.

Assumptions Intern – We are looking for a few younger men and women (age 18-35 or so) to train in our unique assumptions methods.  If you are or know of a high school, college, or recent college grad that would commit to learning from our President over an extended period of time, this is a great opportunity.  The goal is multiply the influence of our founder and President.  Eventually, these people will engage in teaching in live events, live social media, in videos, through social media posts, and other writing.  These people would need to have intellectual ability, but also the ability to communicate and teach.  Ability is not the same thing as skill.  Ability is the capacity to learn.  Skill is a component of experience and practice.  We can help hone a person’s discernment skill, but we cannot give them capacity.  Skill can be acquired, but ability is a gift from God.  These people would learn directly from David Richardson with the intention of discipling and ensuring Assumptions Institute will continue long after he is gone.  These people would need to be in Georgia or who can relocate to Peachtree City.
